This advanced SSD can remotely destroy its data via built-in 4G LTE, making it ideal for security-conscious enterprises

Teamgroup unveiled the T-CREATE EXPERT P35SG external SSD at Computex 2026, featuring a built-in 4G LTE modem that enables remote irreversible data wiping. The hardware-level destruction process, combined with a physical button for local activation, ensures data cannot be recovered even after advanced forensic attempts.

This advanced SSD can remotely destroy its data via built-in 4G LTE, making it ideal for security-conscious enterprises

Enterprise data security often hinges on the ability to destroy sensitive information when a device is compromised. At Computex 2026, Teamgroup introduced the T-CREATE EXPERT P35SG, an external SSD that can remotely destroy its own contents via an integrated 4G LTE modem, according to TechRadar.

How the wireless destruction works

The T-CREATE EXPERT P35SG incorporates an independent 4G LTE modem that allows it to receive kill commands without depending on a connected computer or host network. This built-in cellular network bypasses limitations the host machine might impose, enabling a user to trigger confidential data destruction remotely even when far from the physical device. For on-site use, the SSD also includes a physical button for instant one-touch data wiping.

Hardware-level security and fail-safes

The drive uses a patented two-stage safety push-button system paired with Teamgroup's dedicated destruction circuit, both protected by utility patents in multiple regions. A proprietary destruction trigger notification system sends real-time updates so users can confirm when the wipe process has completed successfully. The wipe sequence executes at the hardware level, not through any operating system, making it resistant to software-based interruption once started. On-board power reserves ensure the wipe completes even if the device is suddenly disconnected. The process combines high-voltage physical breakdown with a logical data wipe, meeting strict standards designed to prevent forensic recovery. A fail-safe locking mechanism reduces the risk of accidental activation and unintended data loss.

Previous self-destruct storage technology

Self-destructing storage has evolved over the years. In 2021, Technodynamika, a subsidiary of Rostec, prototyped a USB drive with a built-in detonator to physically destroy NAND chips. More recent consumer-oriented concepts, such as the Ovrdrive USB, used heat-based data destruction and secure multi-step unlock processes. Teamgroup itself has entered this field with devices like the P250Q Self-Destruct SSD and the P35S SSD, which combine hardware-level erasure, AES-256 encryption, and power-loss resilience. The new P35SG adds remote wireless capability.

Feature T-CREATE EXPERT P35SG Previous Teamgroup Self-Destruct SSDs Ovrdrive USB Technodynamika USB (2021)
Remote trigger Yes (4G LTE) No No No
Local trigger Physical button User-initiated commands Multi-step unlock Detonator
Destruction method High-voltage + logical wipe Hardware-level erasure + AES-256 Heat-based Physical detonation
Power-loss resilience Yes (on-board reserves) Yes Not specified Not specified

Implications for enterprise security

For business travellers carrying sensitive client information or trade documents, this level of remote destruction control acts as a data "dead man's switch", ensuring information cannot be recovered if the device is compromised. The T-CREATE EXPERT P35SG offers a practical solution for logistics tech managers and supply chain leaders who need to protect intellectual property and compliance data when devices are at risk of loss or theft.

Teamgroup Launches 28GB/s PCIe 6.0 SSD, But Consumer PCs Can't Use It Yet

Teamgroup announced the T-CREATE MASTER Ai I6E E1.S SSD at Computex 2026, achieving 28GB/s sequential reads via PCIe 6.0. However, the drive uses an E1.S form factor and requires PCIe 6.0 support absent from current consumer motherboards, limiting it to enterprise and hyperscaler deployments. The company also introduced 64GB RDIMM modules and secured patents for a One Click Data Destruction mechanism.

Ring Battery Video Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) Review: Sharper Video and Quick-Release Battery Justify the Premium

TechRadar's review of the second-generation Ring Battery Video Doorbell Plus highlights a significant upgrade to 2K Retinal resolution with HDR, a 140-degree head-to-toe view, and a quick-release battery. However, the best features require a Ring subscription, and the device charges via Micro-USB instead of USB-C. The doorbell remains tied to Amazon's ecosystem, raising privacy concerns.
