Make use of FTAs, other schemes to boost shipments, government tells businesses

APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev said the authority is leveraging recent FTAs with the UK and EU, its agri-start-up programme Bharti, and farmer producer organisations (FPOs) to drive the next phase of agricultural export growth. Dev described the FTAs as potential 'game changers' that will level the playing field for Indian processed food exporters. APEDA aims to nearly double its FPO membership to 3,000 and launch a dedicated FPO export promotion programme within two to three months.
