ICRISAT develops two high-oleic groundnut varieties to boost farmer profitability and reduce edible oil imports

ICRISAT has developed two high-oleic groundnut varieties, ICGV 181030 and ICGV 201214, which have been identified for national release by AICRP-G. These varieties offer higher oleic acid content (78-81%), improved shelf life, and increased pod yields (7% increase over best check). They are expected to enhance farm profitability and reduce India's dependence on imported edible oils.
