Commodities India’s corn exports to hit 2.4 million tonnes in MY25-26 on weak prices and strong demand
The USDA’s local office has raised India’s corn export estimate for marketing year 2025/26 to 2.4 million tonnes, driven by relatively weak domestic prices and robust demand from neighbouring buyers. Shipments in the first five months more than tripled year-on-year to 996,000 tonnes, with trade sources expecting continued steady exports. Meanwhile, maize production for 2025/26 is pegged at a record 55 million tonnes, up 27% year-on-year.
