FAO Food Price Index rises 0.6% in July on cereals, vegetable oils and sugar
Global food prices rose 0.6% in July, with the FAO Food Price Index averaging 131.1 points, as cereals, vegetable oils and sugar turned costlier. Wheat and maize led grain gains while sugar recovered 5.6%, but meat and dairy prices fell. The FAO expects weather, energy and geopolitics to remain key drivers.
