BT Joins Anthropic's Project Glasswing for Cybersecurity

BT has taken a significant step in enhancing its cybersecurity measures by becoming the first UK company to join Anthropic's Project Glasswing. This initiative grants BT access to the Claude Mythos Preview, an advanced cybersecurity model designed to combat AI-fueled cyber threats.

Project Glasswing and Its Impact

Anthropic launched Project Glasswing in April 2026, aiming to address the growing sophistication of AI-driven cyberattacks. The Claude Mythos Preview model has already identified thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities across major operating systems and browsers. By joining this project, BT aims to strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities, protecting both its networks and its customers.

BT's Role and Benefits

BT's participation in Project Glasswing is expected to have far-reaching benefits for both consumers and businesses in the UK. The company currently prevents four million cyberattacks daily, a number that is likely to increase with the enhanced capabilities provided by the Claude Mythos Preview model. BT CEO Allison Kirkby emphasized the importance of secure and resilient networks, committing to support the development of sovereign British AI capabilities.

Global Expansion of Project Glasswing

Since its launch, Project Glasswing has expanded access to the Claude Mythos Preview model to 150 organizations across more than 15 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, India, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea. This expansion reflects the global demand for advanced cybersecurity solutions to counteract the increasing threat of AI-enabled attacks.

Future Prospects

Looking ahead, Anthropic anticipates that developers could gain access to similarly capable models within the next six to 12 months, provided that adequate safeguards are in place. This development could further enhance the cybersecurity landscape, offering robust defenses against evolving threats.

The partnership between BT and Anthropic's Project Glasswing represents a proactive approach to cybersecurity, leveraging cutting-edge AI technology to protect critical infrastructure. As AI-driven threats continue to evolve, collaborations like this are crucial for maintaining secure and resilient networks.
