Golden Tips Tea Expands Trade in West Bengal

Golden Tips Tea, a renowned tea brand established in 1933 in Darjeeling, is set to expand its trade operations across West Bengal within the next six months. This strategic move aims to enhance the brand's presence in the region, leveraging its strong reputation in the tea industry.

Expansion Strategy

The company currently operates 15 owned stores and 16 franchise stores in West Bengal and Sikkim. According to Madhav Sarda, Managing Director of Golden Tips Tea, the initial focus will be on West Bengal, with potential future expansions into Assam, Bihar, and Odisha. "We plan to start the general trade within six months," Sarda stated, emphasizing the brand's recognition in these regions.

Franchise Model

Golden Tips Tea is adopting a franchise model to facilitate its expansion. This model allows the company to grow without direct investment, as the franchisees bear the financial responsibilities. "In the next three years, we want to open around 100 outlets across the country," Sarda added, highlighting the company's aggressive digital marketing efforts.

Export Markets

Golden Tips Tea has established a strong export presence in China, Russia, and Japan, where its branded Darjeeling teas are well-received. This international reach complements its domestic expansion plans, providing a robust foundation for growth.

"Our focus will be Bengal," said Sarda, indicating the company's strategic priority.

Recent Collaborations

In a recent collaboration, Golden Tips Tea partnered with Tanishq, India's largest jewellery brand, to celebrate International Tea Day on May 21. This event, held at the Tanishq showroom in Kolkata's Ballygunge Phari, showcased a curated pairing of exquisite jewellery and premium Darjeeling teas, reinforcing the brand's cultural and artisanal appeal.
